Dinah's Story...
Dinah is a legend in the cat community. From birth, she has undergone rigorous training to develop an incredible purr, described by one cat scientist as "the purriest purr I have ever heard in all my nine lives." However, legendary fame proved too much for a young Dinah to handle, and she left the high-stress life of being a celebrity cat to find a calm human family that would love her for more than just her amazing purr.

Dinah is a love-starved, low-maintenance cat who wants nothing more than to play and cuddle with you. She loves being brushed and having her head and back scratched. She is a fearless girl who loves adventure and will play with anything she sees, but is also an affectionate lap cat and loves stretching out near you. Her happy purrs will echo through your ears and straight into your soul.

Dinah LOVES being around people, but because of her difficult childhood as a celebrity, she would do best with a gentle family and low-stress environment. Aggressive children and animals can scare her. Dinah needs lots of love and personal attention, so it's important that her human family does not frequently leave her alone for long stretches of time. She may get along okay with dogs after a slow and careful introduction, but she generally does poorly with other cats and would ideally be an only-pet.

Dinah is up-to-date on vaccines and is FIV/FeLV negative. She has a history of UTIs and requires a prescription diet that promotes urinary tract health.

Approximate date of birth 3/1/13.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dinah, a St. Louis Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
