Sweet Pea's Story...
Precious, I am just precious! Sweet Pea is my name and that is exactly what I am. I was abandoned before, left on my own to fend for myself- you’d think I be a little skeptical of humans after that huh? Well not me. I am still a big love, sweet as pie. A wonderful family found me and cared for me, so that I could have the opportunity to come here and find a permanent place to call home. I do great with other dogs, lived with cats, I am already crate-trained and housebroken too. All this and I am only 10 months old! What a smart lady I am, but what else would you expect from a Border Collie.10 months old-45lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; current shots, spay, microchip, 5 week Training Class, free veterinary exam (SE Portland/Milwaukie area),1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweet Pea, a Portland Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Portland, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
