Mia's Story...
(6/27/2013) We call this lovely lady Momma Mia. We dont know what ever happened to her litter but when she got to us she still had milk but no puppies. We had to wait till her milk went away and we got some weight on her to list her for adoption. She was REALLY skinny when she walked through the door. She loves to go out and play with other dogs her size or bigger. She doesnt seem to have an issue with our Chi/Terrior mix but she does nip at puppies and we arent really sure why. She is also really great with the 4 year old little girl who comes to visit. Good with others but shows some dominance. Over bred and does not tolerate puppies. Best suited for a home with active submissive adult dogs.

(8/20/2013) Updated pic added :) Mia is so sweet! She loves treats and love and will do what ever you ask her!

Mia's adoption fee is $175 and covers her spay, shots, and microchip. Please email for an application on adopting Mia or to schedule and meeting :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Austin Plott Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Plott Hound for sale in Austin, or seeking a Plott Hound dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Plott Hound breeders who help with Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
