My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bertha's guardian died and she found herself in a very abusive situation. She is a 7 year old Chihuahua. She eventually made it to NAR where extensive testing was done to find out the extent of her injuries. The good news was that even though she did suffer some neurological damage it will not stop her from having a great life. The only sign that there is any issues is that she walks like she had one too many martinis. She may look drunk...but don't let that fool you. She knows exactly where she is and where she wants to go. She see's, hears and eats perfectly fine. She does her business outside and is crate trained (as long as she has a nice soft bed and a blanket). I should also mention that she is fearless. Nothing is to high to jump off of or try to climb. She is only 5 lbs so a couch is big to her. She has been in foster care with cats and dogs and gets along with everyone. Since she moves a little slower then other dogs a big dog that isn't used to being around a tiny dog would probably not work. Small children may also be too quick for her. She loves to snuggle. She is just a joy to have around. She doesn't require any special care other then to be loved and kept safe. Bertha would like a forever home. She is vaccinated, spayed, house- and crate trained, microchipped, heartworm negative. All our dogs are professionally temperament tested and evaluated. We require an application, home check and adoption fee. We adopt out of state and help to work out transport possibilities. Our dogs are not allowed to fly “cargo”. Please call 843.540.6755 or email noahsarksrescues@gmail.com with any questions. Here is the link to our application: http://www.noahs-arks.net/RESCUE/NAR_APPLICATION.html. All our dogs are in foster care and have a safe place with us until we have found their forever home. We are located in the Hilton Head area, SC. Please remember: We are a “foster-care-only” based organization, and by adopting from us you change and save the life of three dogs. How you may ask? 1.You change the life of an abused dog by adopting. 2.Your adoption makes space for another dog getting into foster care 3. By moving a dog into foster care out of one of our medical facilities, we can save another abused dog from being euthanized and get the dog into medical care.
