Sassy's Story...
Sassy is a 3 yr old chi dachshund mix. She has had a hard life and has a history of abuse. However, she is still so sweet and just wants to cuddle up next to you to feel safe and warm. She is low energy and would rather lay on the couch or your lap than run around. She is completely potty trained. Sassy prefers to be with her family and would rather not be in a crate. She loves sleeping with her foster mom or foster sister and doesn't cause any trouble.

"I would do best with older children and adults only as the little ones scare me when they run up to me. I have no fear of men though and love to lay on my foster dads lap. I'm good with other dogs and cats. I really want a home where I can sit on your lap and love you and be safe. Will you teach me that not all people are bad?"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassy, a San Antonio Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
