When Tesoro came to us, he was still too small to eat on his own. It was necessary to syringe feed him a thin mix of food and Kitten Replacement Milk. That was the only way, and the only thing, he would eat. Then one day, he got impatient for us to fill the syringe with the mix and decided he could do it himself. Since then he has been steadily been putting on weight, although we think he will never be a very big kitty. He has all the markings for a Maine Coon but no long hair. The hair he does have is very soft.
Because he was very human-centric for his feedings, Tesoro likes human contact….a lot. He hears a voice and eagerly looks for its source. If he can’t find you, his little voice echoes through the house as he looks for you. Then when he sees you, he comes running.
He will carefully watch you to see what you’re doing. Due to his very small size, he is a bit cautious about new things and places. Once he is comfortable though, watch out. He will tear around like Speedy Gonzales. He likes the toy with holes in them and jingle balls inside. A dangly toy becomes prey and he will defend its possession with tiny growls and hisses. He adores…yes adores straws. Guard your drinks!
When playtime is over though, he will look for either a snuggly blanket or a cozy hidey-hole for naps. If another kitty happens to be there too, all the better. He loves curling up on your lap or chest the best. Due to his smaller size and age, he runs down a little quicker than his current playmates, but his cat naps are often shorter too. It’s so cute to see him sitting somewhere, eyes half closed, struggling mightily to stay awake, and eventually losing. Let this little boy come into your life. You'll be glad you did.
Tesoro will come to you neutered, tested, microchipped and vaccinated. He is litterbox perfect. He is available after July 15th.
