Update: On 4/25/08 Tango was pronounced heartworm free by the vet! He has been neutered and is currently awaiting for someone to apply to adopt him!

Hi, I'm Tango and I'm the sweetest little guy. I am a 4-5 year old Shih Tzu that was recently rescued from a shelter in Virginia. Unfortunately, my former owners did not take very good care of me. The vet told my foster mommy that I am heartworm positive. I don't know what that means but it made her very sad. The vet went on to tell her that I was so emaciated and unhealthy, that they could not treat me for the heartworms until I get stronger.

But my foster mommy and daddy have been giving me all the food, care, and love I can possibly stand. I love to cuddle and I pull at their arms to get them to rub me. I've already put on a whole pound, so it won't be long until I can get the treatment that I need. Then I can begin to search for my forever family.

NOTE: While he won't leave foster care until he proves to be heartworm negative (and also can't be neutered until then), we will be taking applications for the little guy so that he won't have to wait so long afterward. Tango is being fostered in Suffolk, Virginia and his asking adoption fee is $225. Donations for his expensive treatments will be very much appreciated and Tango will personally thank his sponsors!
