Sarah's Story...
Hi everyone. My name is Sarah. And I am a 4 year old Golden Retriever mix of a sweet, PRECIOUS girl. I am a little shy when I meet new people but after I get to know them, I open up and turn into your typical golden - pawing for pets, head nudging under your hand - I mean, you know how we are, right? I am in a foster home with three other dogs and a cat - and guess what - I LOVE it. I really need to go to a home with another social dog because that is when I blossom AND I love to play. My favorite time of the day is the morning when I wake my foster mom up with sweet kisses - we then lay on the bed for morning cuddles.

I do need a quiet home, no children under 12 please because loud noises still frighten me. So if you are looking for an ADORABLE, sweet, gentle golden girl, that's me - tell them Sarah sent you!

If you are interested in adopting Sarah or one of our other Golden Retrievers, please go to our website at www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org to fill out an application.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sarah, a White River Junction Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in White River Junction, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in White River Junction.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in White River Junction already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a White River Junction breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in White River Junction paves the way for another one to be saved.
