My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is in foster care. If you are interested in this dog, please contact Lucy at

Charlie arrived at the Mercer County Dog Pound in Celina OH in early August. He was pulled immediately for a rescue that ultimately decided they didn't have room for him, so he's been in boarding ever since. Charlie is a big, friendly, rambunctious guy who is beginning to learn some manners, thanks to a the visits of a kind dog trainer. He is very good with people, and will make the right owner a wonderful pet. Charlie's adoption fee is $175. UPDATE 9/28/07: The trainer spent 45 minutes with Charlie yesterday. She reports that he is VERY friendly, but has no training of any sort, including housetraining. He has a good temperament. He is not dog-aggressive. She tested him with a small dog, who growled at him; Charlie just wandered away. They walked past a number of other dogs; Charlie hugged the wall, as though he might be afraid of them, but indicated no aggression at all. He was fine as soon as they got outside. He is very friendly to people. She had him outside and asked a couple of people to approach; all he wanted to do was lick them to death. He does not jump up or need a lot of exercise. He was not afraid of children who were playing nearby, but was very interested, wagging his tail. Her conclusion was that Charlie was a very lovable dog. UPDATE 10/15/07: Charlie is being neutered on Thursday so that he can go to obedience classes! In honor of the occasion he's going to get the works from the groomer too, so he'll be in good shape in a week or so!
