Taffy's Story...
We call this guy TAFFY (A20354734) because he is as sweet as can be. He’s a 50 lb Terrier, Pit Bull/Mix who has had it particularly rough. Taffy has a lot of scars all over his body, but he hasn’t let his past break his spirit. Taffy is a bit shy and a tad skittish at first, but once he feels comfortable and confident he opens up to play and give cuddles and kisses. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet boy; he truy deserves his happily ever after. Taffy is very interested in other dogs and very much wants to say hi to each one he sees. Slow intros are best.

Act quickly to adopt Taffy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Taffy, a Philadelphia Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
