Hunter's Story...
Meet SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) Class XIV at WKCC (Western KY Correctional Complex). Seven dogs will spend two months in class 24/7 learning to be exceptional pets. These dogs will be housetrained, crate trained, neutered/spayed, on flea and tick preventative, on heartworm preventative, and up to date on all vaccinations. They will also learn manners (sit, stay, heel, etc.) and will able able to walk on a loose leash. Some even learn additional feats that will amaze, such as jumping through hoops and fetching a cold beverage. Applications will be taken until July 30 and may either be downloaded from or you may email and we will send you an application. The adoption fee is $150.00.

Hunter is an 18 month old Husky/German Shepherd mix who possesses the beauty of both breeds in miniature body (He weighs a mere 20 pounds and is 18 inches tall.). You can see by his picture that he is stunning! There is some suspicion that his breed may be a Kelpie, but whatever his lineage, the boy makes it work. Hunter had a wonderful home, but due to his owner's serious illness, he was brought back to the shelter. He is energetic, fun-loving, and very loyal. One caution, though, Hunter is not a friend to chickens. He prefers a poultry-free household.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hunter, a Princeton Husky/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Princeton, or seeking a Husky/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Princeton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Princeton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Princeton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Husky/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Princeton paves the way for another one to be saved.
