My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

PLEASE CLICK ON "READ MORE ABOUT THIS PET" FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION!

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

If you are looking for a sweet, lovable little chihuahua, come meet Mr. Ears. Have you ever seen such ears in your life? This darling little chihuahua was found as a stray dog and rescued from a local impound. He is a playful, spunky little guy who likes playing with the other small dogs in his foster home. Mr. Ears is about 2 years old and full grown at 8 pounds. He is house trained on a schedule like most small dogs and he has good indoor manners and doesn't need to be crated although he is kennel trained. He likes to go on short walks when the weather is nice, and if his new home had a fenced yard he would love to be outside sniffing on nice days. Mr. Ears takes a while to warm up to new men but he does well with kids 10 and older and he goes readily to new women and girls. Mr. Ears is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Please read his bio at http://search.petfinder.com/petdetail/26607572 to learn more about his adoption criteria, fee, and veterinary care. His adoption fee of $300 is to cover his neuter, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and his HomeAgain microchip.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.

• Homeowners: Not required, he would do fine in a townhome

• Status of adopter: Mature, no babies in future

• Previous dog owning experience: Required

• Age of children: Female teens only

• Another dog in the home: He does like to play with other small dogs but if his new mom is home he would be fine being an only dog

• Cat(s) in the home: Not cat tested but probably safe with cats

• Fenced yard: Preferred but if the yard isn't fenced he must be leashed for all potty breaks. He cannot ever be left unattended in the yard, ever!

• Time alone on work days: Would enjoy someone who worked from home but could be home for a short work day
