Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Allison and Kelsey are a bonded pair of 5-6 year old bassets. They are probably sisters, and are very uncomfortable when not together. They are healthy, although Allison could stand to loose a few pounds; she loves to steal her sister’s food. Her foster family has to supervise mealtime to make sure Kelsey gets some dinner too! They are well behaved and house trained.
They love to take a walk in the afternoon and sniff around the neighborhood. Kelsey can only walk for about 15 minutes before she starts dragging behind, so her foster family makes a point of walking daily to build up her stamina. Their goal is to be able to walk for 30 minutes without dragging behind. They love the car, trips to the dog park, and attention. Allison is the more dominant of the pair, but Kelsey doesn’t mind. They always want what the other one has, so be prepared to pet two dogs, get two kisses, pass out two treats, walk two dogs, and have two dogs in your lap!
As with most bassets they require routine nail and ear care. They are not big droolers, but tend to drag water out of the water bowl all over the kitchen and dip their ears in everything. They don’t bark or chase other dogs and have not tried to escape from home. They are very content – as long as they are together!
