found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Rudy falls into the sight hound category. He is full of life, loves to play and needs an active person/family. Sight hounds are VERY fast and Rudy loves to do "zoomies" around the yard. Because of his desire to run Rudy requires a fenced yard.
Here is some information on Ibizan hounds:
**Keep in mind, Rudy is a mix, but shares many characteristics including the happy, playful nature of PB Ibizan hounds.
"A very kind and open dog describes the breed well. Loved by children, who seem to sense its friendliness and playful mind. It is easily upset if harshly corrected as its extremely good hearing. (Note the beautiful and large erect ears!) This makes it a dog one absolutely should not shout commands at all the time.
"It also has a very good nose and is excellent at tracking down its quarry by following its scent. Ibizans are very strong and untiring dogs and are even to this day used for hunting both by day as well as at night, either singly or in groups. However, these qualities are mostly unusable where we live so they must manage with artificial lure coursing, retrieving and several have shown a flair for obedience and the like."
Rudy does well with lots of play time. He LOVES playing with Duke and Sugar (also for adoption). He is learning his leash manners but if something catches his eye (or nose or ear) he tends to get excited and will pull on the leash. He is very eager to please and loves human companionship. Rudy would do good as an agility dog. It would allow him to use his skills and be with his person. Rudy also has the potential to be a good jogging partner (once he masters his leash skills a bit more.)
Rudy recovered well from his puppy cold and put on some much needed weight. Rudy is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and ready for his forever home.
