Tobias's Story...
Tobias is an 8 month-old Dachshund-Lab mix puppy with a nearly-solid caramel coat with a white patch on his chest. His Dachshund heritage is visible in a body that is longer than his legs and his legs that turn inward a bit above the paws.

Two of our volunteers found this happy fellow in an alley in the East Valley, where he lead them on wild-goose chase. He was clearly healthy and well-fed, but there were no signs of an owner, even after a lot of knocking on doors.

It’s difficult to get a picture of Tobias’s tail because he wags and wags. He loves people and loves to play. He has a lot of pep, bright eyes, and an easy-going demeanor. This sweetheart is going to be a favorite with everyone who meets him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tobias, a Gilbert Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
