Petra's Story...
Petra is a sturdy 54 lb. Bull Terrier mix who so desperately needs a forever home.

Petra is Sugar's Mom and both of these girls were surrendered to the high kill shelter because their family was moving. The person who dropped them off was sobbing, but we still can not understand how they would give them up to a shelter that puts down 80% of the dogs that come through the doors.

Petra is 2-3 years old and 53.8 lbs. She is heartworm negative and has been vaccinated, spayed, and is healthy and ready to go!

Petra is currenly boarding at our partner vet clinic in Memphis, TN. Due to a shortage of foster homes in our area, we will not be able to transport Bankit to our area until he has a committed adopter. We are part of a rescue network that works so save dogs from the Tipton County Animal Shelter in Brighton, TN. Prior to rescue help, the euthanization rate for dogs and puppies was 90%. In the last year and a half, we've been able to place over 300 dogs into loving forever homes.

We realize that adopting a dog sight unseen is not for everyone, but we are absolutely committed to making the best match for both our dogs and our families.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Petra, a Claymont Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bull Terrier for sale in Claymont, or seeking a Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Claymont.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Claymont already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Claymont breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bull Terrier breeders who help with Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Claymont paves the way for another one to be saved.
