Pastrami's Story...
Pastrami and siblings arrived as a Stop the Cycle litter; Forget Me Not has spayed the mother dog (a Great Dane/Australian Cattle Dog mix) and returned her to her owner, and we will now find great homes for the pups. They were born on March 22, 2013. Father is unknown (may be more than one for this litter). Some of the pups look like they may have some Labrador Retriever or Pitbull in the mix, along with a healthy dose of "who knows what" - they are true "LeMutte" pups!

The entire litter is very well socialized, and the pups are currently together in a foster home where they are encountering adult dogs, cats, and chickens. They are all curious, outgoing, and very happy, and should do well in every type of home and family.

Pastrami (a boy whose nickname is "Batman" for the bat-shaped mark on his chest) is one of the pack leaders. He is rambunctious and playful with the other pups, eager for attention (and will jump up to get it), comes when called, and loves exploring during walks. He will look to his person for direction, but also likes to strike out on his own to explore. He is very active and will need lots of exercise.

Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet. They will reward their forever owners with boundless love and loyalty! We start all puppies on their vaccinations as soon as they arrive at the shelter (these pups will have had 2 vaccinations before they go home, plus rabies vaccination, and will require one final booster shortly after arrival).

Pastrami comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $75; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pastrami, a Republic Great Dane/Australian Cattle Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Republic, or seeking a Great Dane/Australian Cattle Dog puppy from a breeder in Republic.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Republic already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Republic breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Great Dane/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Republic paves the way for another one to be saved.
