Pongo's Info...

Pongo's Story...
Pongo is an adorable young Chihuahua who must have been been through some terrible things before ending up at the shelter. We are listing him as special needs, as he still has many fears, which will require patience and gentleness. He is making great progress in his foster home, but will need someone to carry on the work and support he needs.. He would do best in a quieter household, with someone who can patiently work with him. He is house trained and crate trained - and is curious about life outside his crate, just a little unsure about it all. If you would like to know more or meet this little guy, contact us, and we will get you in contact with his foster mom, as he is too shy to go to adoption events.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pongo, a Grand Rapids Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
