Ivory's Story...
Meet Ivory…. Ivory is about 1.5 years old and totally house trained. She gets along well with other dogs and loves playing chase with the other dogs in her foster home. We feel that she would do well with children because she is very gentle in nature and listens well. She is not food aggressive and would love to be part of a family. Ivory was found in terrible shape a few months ago but she is now fully recovered and ready for her new home. Could you be the one?
If you are interested in meeting Ivory please fill out an adoption application online at http://forgottendogs.org/adoption_application.html or email her foster mom at purplegorilla21@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ivory, a Porter Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Porter, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Porter.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Porter already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Porter breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Porter paves the way for another one to be saved.
