Mindy & Scully - Courtesy Post's Story...
My mother passed away unexpectedly on January 8th. Since then I have been trying to find a home for her two dogs. I would love to keep them however one of my two dogs does not get along with others and it would bring my household pet count up to 6 which is a bit much for me to handle. (I have two dogs and two cats of my own). I have been alternating weeks by boarding my dogs and then hers at a local kennel since she became ill on Dec 28th. This however is costly and I want to give the dogs a permanent home. They were adopted together as puppies and so have spent their lives together. They are both 7 years old and are 70-75 pounds. I do think they will be ok being separated and I know it will be easier to find them a home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mindy & Scully - Courtesy Post, a Rochester/Buffalo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
