My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sally is a smart and affectionate girl, about 2 years old (we are guessing), who appears to be a Labrador Retriever/Pitbull mix (though who knows). She was surrendered to the shelter by someone who found her WAY out in the middle of nowhere in another county, and brought her home to add to their current pack of dogs. Unfortunately, they decided after Sally had been there a while that they didn't have the time or patience to train her, so brought her to the shelter. She has fit in beautifully and the volunteers are starting to teach her the basics. Sally is a smart cookie, and loves to please; we think she will train very quickly once she has the stability of a forever home, and training from the same person every day. So far, she is doing very well with "sit" and comes when called; she is also pretty good on leash, not a heavy puller, and has been making great strides with potty training!

She is a fairly submissive girl with other dogs, and likes gentle, playful dogs the best. Her favorite thing is to be with a person, she will follow you everywhere if you let her. We think she will love children, though her enthusiasm and lack of training give her the potential to knock over toddlers when she jumps up to greet them; once she understands about not jumping up, she should do fine.

The #1 key to having a happy Sally is going to be exercise, exercise, exercise. A tired doggie is a happy doggie! You'll want to take her for short runs, or longer walks, at least twice a day, and hopefully have some interactive play time in the yard in between walks during the day. She has a heart full of joy, and is ready to become the perfect dog you've always wanted! "Ready to impress; just add training and stir."

Sally comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $75; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
