Bella Luna's Story...
Little Bella Luna was found in the stairwell of an apartment building in Northwest DC. This had all the signs of a well-planned set-up. Kitty was patiently waiting by her little bowl of water carefully put on a paper towel. When the 4Paws volunteer arrived to feed her friend’s cats, she found the kitten, of course!

What a delightful little girl she turns out to be, just about the friendliest cat ever. She was so relaxed and unafraid that at first I thought she might be sick. But not at all; the vet pronounced her very healthy and about 13 weeks old. She integrated into a household of cats without any problems, and is gentle and loving. She plays a lot, and loves to pounce on a toy or ambush another kitty coming around the corner! She would love to be with another young cat who can keep up with her, and play, play, play, and then snuggle and sleep.

Bella Luna was born around 30 March 2013. She is spayed, has tested negative for FELV/FIV is current on her vaccines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bella Luna, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
