One-year-old Clyde was left in our dog run. He was scared and felt lost sitting there with a bag of food and no owner. He was very intimidating due to his size and scared state but soon was jumping around for someone to come and get him. He was drooling with joy when he was placed on the leash and taken inside. His owner came a few days later claiming that his father who lives in Hamden was dog sitting and tired of caring for him while he was away and abandoned him at our shelter. His owner lives in Plainfield, CT, Clyde who never lived in New Haven wound up having to remain with us because his owner left to go to the bank for reclaim money but never came back he also gave a phone number that was no longer in use. Clyde now needs an owner that has a lot of experience with large dogs. He acts very much like a puppy being that he is mouthy and jumps on you, will wrestle with his leash and is at times overwhelming to control due his size. He responds to stern commands at times but needs consistency and possible professional assistance. He is well near or over 100lbs and is still growing. Experienced Only no children.
