Vita's Story...
Vita is a lovely senior lady who is looking for someone to spend her golden years with. She is a white and tan Chihuahua who came into the shelter with a broken hind foot. She’s been relaxing until her foot is healed and now she is ready to go. She has a slight limp and will occasionally not use the leg but that doesn’t slow her down at all! Vita is a sweetheart and loves attention from people but isn’t a fan of dogs bigger than her. And at 10 pounds, that is a bunch of dogs! We are hoping to find Vita a home that if children are going to be in the home, they are at least 10 years old.

Adoption fees include spaying or neutering, vaccinations (excluding Rabies), ID microchip, collar, de-worming treatments, flea/ear mite treatments, and temperament testing. There will be an addition to the adoption price, if you reside in our county, and you want to obtain a current dog license from us.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vita, a Chambersburg Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
