My story

Beastie Boy is being fostered in Pittsburgh, PA. He is currently available for adoption.

Beastie is a "big ole prancing carpet" of a dog. We believe him to be 3-4 years old. We were told that he is a Deerhound/Greyhound mix who was purchased in NE, brought to NY and used for hunting. We know that he was kept chained to a dog house during his year in NY state. When we took Beastie in we expected the worst because of his background. This boy is wonderful. He is playful & snuggly. He has not yet displayed the overt protectiveness that Deerhounds are known for. He even sticks his face right into a Greyhound muzzle and does not complain about wearing it. Beastie's only fault so far is that his play style in the yard has become a bit rough now that he has become more comfortable in his foster home. We are working on that and he is already showing improvement.
