Tippy's Story...
Tippy is a young cat who was found very pregnant. A pet-loving family took her in and within a few days she had a litter of 4 kittens. She is very sweet to those humans she's used to. She doesn't hang out with other cats but does just fine with her foster mom's Chihuahua so she'd be good in a home with only one or no other cats and a dog would be okay too.

If you're interested in meeting Tippy please fill out our on-line application on our web site (www.FatCatRescueInc.org) and we will arrange a day/time that's convenient for you. Or if you have questions please call 847-306-3688, x-101 and one of our volunteers will return your call.

Fat Cat's adoptions fees are: $125 for kittens under 6 months, kittens over 6 months and cats are $100; for cats over 7 the fee is negotiable. Second adoptions are half price. The fees include spay/neuter, rabies, distemper, medications for ear mites, fleas, and worms, testing for feline leukemia and FIV, and microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tippy, a Grayslake Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Grayslake, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Grayslake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grayslake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grayslake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grayslake paves the way for another one to be saved.
