Shiloh's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Shiloh's Story...
Shiloh is a Puppy Mill Breeder dog - She has had MANY litters of puppies. She is a Rat Terrier. She is approx 5-6 Yrs. Old. She weighs 14 Lbs. She is up to date on all vaccinations and is spayed.

Shiloh loves to be loved - but hates to be man-handled in any way and must constantly be monitored for getting into the “shut-down” mode. She is one of the Puppy Mill Rescue dogs that simply generated no interest for adoption - which breaks our hearts..because she is a WONDERFUL DOG.

She needs a very gentle hand and would do best in a quiet home. She is dog friendly but, most likely will be afraid of cats, or will simply ignore them. Since her entire life was spent breeding - and was not socialized she shows un-trust of Children.

Unfortunately Breeder Dogs do not come to us with a story of what exactly spurs the reactions they display .. perhaps a child abused her - we will never know .. We do feel with a gentle hand and soft environment she can overcome this. She will go into a mode we call simply TERRIFIED.. You can hold her and she will snuggle - but one must remember that for many years she lived a life of hell. Sudden movements scare her..

Are YOU that SPECIAL HOME?? Can you teach Shiloh that not everyone is mean?

Can YOU give Shiloh her well deserved furever home ?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shiloh, a Port Clinton Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Port Clinton, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Port Clinton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Clinton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Clinton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Clinton paves the way for another one to be saved.
