My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rayne's Sad Story........Good Samaritans Still At Work

Through fb a friend messaged me to help a dog in distress. There was a friend of hers pleading for help for this dog that she found in a field. She called the police for help but they wanted to shoot the dog and AC wouldn't pick up the dog until Mon (July4th week-end). She knew I did rescue work so she called me. I picked up the dog and got her to the Catonsville ER where she stayed for 2 days. She has been with me since then. I thought I had another rescue lined up but they took on another sick dog and now can't take Rayne, as I call her.

I live in a basement apt of a friends house with 2 cats and 1 dog. She doesn't care about them but the same can't be said about them. The problem is steps and I'm not allowed to have more pets.

She's approx 10, cataract in her Rt eye, 67lbs but hopefully she has gained some when she has her follow up vet visit. She has dermatitis which is healing. She was covered in maggots when found. She has hookworms but is being treated for them. She has finished a course of Metronidazole. Current meds are Simplicef, Tramodol ( will be finished shortly) Panacur and Carpaquin (long term).

She will still need immunizations which I hope to do at a rabies clinic because the vet will be probably too expensive. I have already spent close to $1000 to get her better ( I have fundraisers going to help me get some of it back as I am retired and don't have the means to continue)

She will start Sentinel on Tues. when she sees the vet and I can afford to buy the medicine. She is heartworm negative but positive for Lymes (Simplicef is treating it).

I am looking for a rescue that has a foster where she can live comfortably without steps, or an adopter. She can manage 1 step. I have other rescue friends trying to find her a place and please share her with other rescues if you can't help.
