My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hershey is a gentle, snugly sweet, shy, thin, lanky and well-socialized three-month-old female, black and white pit bull terrier-mix puppy looking for a loving guardian. Her canine mom and dad landed at Chicago Animal Care & Control when their caretaker was arrested on drug charges. Hershey was born at the shelter on April 17th. A day later a foster for Friends of Animal Care and Control brought her home to bottle feed and care for her when the mom was so distressed that she trampled to death her siblings and refused to nurse them. She has thrived in her foster home and loves other dogs, cats and people. She is very attentive and has already mastered the sit command at an early age. She is doing well with her crate-training and housebreaking. She is looking for a dedicated guardian with the time for training and exercising a puppy so she becomes a model canine citizen. Enrollment in training classes is a requirement. Hershey is up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed and fecal-tested. She will be spayed and micro-chipped in August. To meet and possibly adopt Hershey, please contact her foster mom to request an adoption application by contacting Terri at kinsellaterri@hotmail.com or 224-725-0960. Her adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued pets of the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
