Tamiko's Story...
Tamiko is a cute 6 month old Shih Tsu and Pekingese mix. She will be about 14 pounds full grown. She was a matted mess sitting in a shelter covered in about 100 ticks. She was groomed, and look how cute she was under that hair! Her adult hair is a brown brindle, her puppy hair is grey so we assume she will be brown brindle when she is older. She is pretty mellow, good with dogs, cats, and all people (except doesn't like to share her bones with the big lab puppy). She will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a month of free pet insurance. If interested in adopting, please check out our process at:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tamiko, a Sacramento Shih Tzu/Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Pekingese for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Pekingese dog from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Pekingese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
