Brownie's Story...
Brownie has an amazing personality for a puppy! He picks up new commands very quickly- sit, go potty, come, and fetch. Brownie LOVES to play fetch! As long as you are willing to throw his rope toy, he consistently returns it to you. His favorite toy is his rope! He will fetch, hide, retrieve, play tug-of-war and chase it, running around in circles. Brownie can entertain himself and is not a demanding pup. Even though he has his active moments, he is not a high-energy dog. He absolutely LOVES to be held and carried around like a baby. Brownie will curl up in your lap to watch television with you and the family. Initially, he is very nervous and scared when meeting someone new, so he will need a patient, understanding adopter to help him adjust to his new home. He is sweet with other dogs. Babies do scare him (he runs and hides). He is currently housetraining and crate-training and it is going great! He will sleep in his crate quietly all through the night. Brownie is a small dog, currently weighing ten pounds. We estimate him to be close to twenty pounds as an adult dog. Brownie's birthday is March 14, 2013. Come take him for a walk at Petco Humble on FM 1960 just east of Hwy 59 on weekends 12-4:30 and see if he is a match for your family. You can also contact his Foster Mom at genie9034@yahoo.com for further questions or to set up a visit.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brownie, a Humble Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Humble, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Humble.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Humble already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Humble breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Humble paves the way for another one to be saved.
