Butter is a very sweet girl! Everyone she meets marvels at what a good dog she is! She rarely barks and is very tough when it comes to getting shots or her nails trimmed. Butter doesn't finch and gives kisses! She was good with the other female dog I was fostering. Butter would be a great walk/run buddy! She walks well on a leash and is crate trained. Butter was treated for Heartworms and has completed her crate rest. She is healthy and up to date on everything. Butter has had a hard life with some minor physical scars but you would not know it with her loving attitude! She just wants someone to love and be loved in return!

All of the animals listed by San Antonio Pets Alive! were rescued from euthanasia in San Antonio, Texas. Over 20,000 animals were euthanized in San Antonio in 2011, and we are working hard to turn San Antonio into a no-kill city. In 2012 alone, we saved over 5,900 animals! By adopting from SAPA!, you not only save the life of that animal, but the life of the animal that takes their place in a foster home.

If you are interested in adopting from San Antonio Pets Alive!, please send an email to rescueme@sanantoniopetsalive.org with the pet's name and ID #. Please allow us up to 24 hours to respond as all fosters work with us on a volunteer basis. About San Antonio Pets Alive

About Our Rescue Group...

San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA!) is a new organization that will be modeled after the very successful Austin Pets Alive (APA). APA was instrumental in helping Austin achieve their goal of no longer euthanizing healthy, adoptable pets from the city shelter. SAPA has teamed up with Animal Care Services in order for the city of SA to reach their no-kill goal.

In partnership with San Antonio’s Animal Care Services, we are implementing innovative and progressive programs to:

Rescue as many pets as possible off of the daily “euthanasia list”. In our rescue program, to not duplicate work of other agencies, we focus solely on the pets who have already been passed over by other groups and the shelters’ adoption programs and create programs to save their lives and find them new homes.

Our rescue program is focused 100% on the dogs and cats who are about to be killed. We wait until the shelters have chosen the pets they want for their adoption programs and other rescue groups have pulled the pets that they can take, then we go in and rescue the rest that we can fit into our programs.

Email adopt@sanantoniopetsalive.org if you have any
questions.

If you are interested in fostering an animal, please visit our website and fill out our online Foster Application. The more foster homes we have the more animals we can pull off the euthanasia list and the more lives we can save together!
