Prince's Story...
PLEASE NOTE THAT PRINCE IS A COURTESY POST AND IS NOT A LITTLE BITS DOG. WE ARE ASSISTING WITH FINDING HIM A HOME AND PROCESSING APPLICATIONS BUT WILL NOT HAVE THE FINAL SAY ABOUT HIS ADOPTION. AS WITH OUR OWN DOGS, NO PHONE CONTACT WILL BE MADE OR MEETINGS ARRANGED UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED AN APPLICATION, WHICH YOU CAN SUBMIT ONLINE AT www.littlebitsrescue.org Prince is a 3 year old purebred shih tzu whose family gave him up because they did not feel they had the time for him that he deserves. He weighs 9 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm worm negative and on preventative. Prince is active and loves people and is great with older, dog knowledgeable children (age 10 and older). He gets along well with the other small dog in his foster home, but he absolutely does NOT like cats. He is a smart little fella and wants to please. He needs a home without children under the age of ten, without cats, and where people will have time to devote to him. Prince’s adoption donation is $150, and he is being fostered in Wetumpka, Alabama. We do approve out of state adoptions, but you must be willing to drive to the foster home to “fetch” your new family member. We do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, the first step is to submit an APPLICATION.

We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Prince, a Birmingham Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
