Shadow is a sweet boy that can be quite shy when first meeting new people. Once he trusts you, he loves to snuggle. Shadow's owner felt she could no longer care for him and sent him into rescue hoping he could find the perfect home. Shadow weighs about 10 pounds and is 7 years old. His adoption fee is $175 . Shadow tends to not like men as well as women so would do best in a home without men. He gets along well with the men in our home but then we just don't let him fuss. He tends to get yeast infections but these are easily managed with antibiotics that are only $4.00 at Kroger and he is kept shaved to better manage it.
We are a very small group of dog lovers that are devoted to the well being of small breed dogs. We try to only bring in dogs under 15 pounds so they can be safely housed together. It is heartwarming to see a dog that has spent its entire life in a kennel learn how to play with toys, accept love from a human, and actually want to be touched.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Prospective adopters are welcome to come and meet the dogs once their application has been approved. This can take as long as two weeks since all of us are volunteers and work full time jobs as well. Since we are a home based group, we are bringing adopters into our homes to meet the dogs.
Our Adoption Process...
Our rescue is foster based so the dogs are in homes where they are learning to get along with other dogs and humans. We require a vet reference as well as two personal references with each application. Our funds to rescue and vet all dogs come from our adoption fees or our personal funds. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, have dentals, and heartworm checked before leaving the rescue. If they are too young or small to be safely neutered, they are adopted on a spay/neuter contract.
