My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This gorgeous girl is Sadie Lady, a 3 year old coonhound mix that is 50lbs. She is an absolute sweetheart and a wonderful companion in every way. Sadie loves every person she meets, and she is a total lap dog. She is gentle with children and loves to share countless kisses in exchange for a belly rub. Sadie is confident and loves her walks and trips to the dog park, where she charms even the rough dogs who don't like to play- she just has a calm, friendly way about her that every dog seems to like. She shows absolutely no aggression or possessiveness with food, toys or bones. She has the energy of a younger dog and loves to run and wrestle in the mornings but she also mellows out and takes long naps in the afternoons. She is very submissive with other dogs and has a healthy fear of cats. She listens well and comes when called, unless it is time to put her in her crate- which she doesn't like getting into, but doesn't protest or howl when left alone in there either! Sadie is house trained, crate trained, is good on a leash and knows her basic commands. She is very eager to please and does wonderful in the car as well. She came to us when she broke one of her front legs and her previous owner could not afford the surgery to fix it so was going to put her down. Critter Cavalry took her in and got Sadie her much needed surgery in early May. and she is almost as good as new now! She has a limp sometimes, but don't think she is disabled in anyway- she runs like the wind (faster than dogs twice her size!) and never shows any signs of pain. She is a hound and will howl occasional when she is excited or to alert you to a visitor, but overall, she is a pretty quiet girl. She adjusted very quickly to her foster home in New Hampshire and has whole days where she doesn't make a peep. Her favorite spot is on the couch with her foster family, where she prefers to lay on you rather than next to you! She is a very easy dog and would even be great for a relaxed family who don't have much experience with dogs. She would love a fenced yard, though this isn't required, and she would thrive in a home with another dog, children or people that are home a lot since she doesn't like to be alone. Sadie is the ultimate family dog, waiting patiently for her forever family- could it be you? She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her vaccines including rabies. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
