Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Miley and I am a very sweet, friendly, 5 year old, black n white cocker girl. I was an owner turn in at a shelter here in NC and my family told the staff that they just couldn't afford to take care of me anymore and wanted me to have a better life. The shelter was completely full, so the staff asked for rescue help to get me a good home.
I am heartworm negative and the vet will be checking to see if I am spayed. I came to CCR loaded with fleas and hooks, so I have now been treated for this issue and I am on medication for a bad case of kennel cough, that I must have picked up while at the shelter and then it turned into pneumonia and I was hospitalized. I am much better now and getting better every day since I have been in my foster home. Now that I am feeling better, I am allowed to interact and play with the 3 other dogs that live here, and 2 of them are very friendly, young, low key cockers. I am a happy, very friendly girl, sometimes a bit nervous if you talk loudly, and I was very picky about my food due to the medication that I was on, but my foster Mom has been working with me, and the medication has been changed, so I am now eating better and feeling better too. I love belly rubs and attention, laying on your lap and especially spending one on one, quality time with you. I am a real sweetheart, I love to sleep on the bed and I am a great house dog. I will make you smile because I am just a very nice girl and I am house trained as long as you let me out about every 4 to 5 hours. If I need to go and you don't realize the time, I will bark, run around and not settle down, to let you know that I need to do something and I don't want to do it in the house. I am an active girl, I tend to pull a bit while on a leash (I will do best on a harness) and I ride really well in the car. My foster momma has found that I love toys, especially balls, but I am a bit possessive of them, and I will need a lot of one on one attention. I will do best with someone who works at home or is not gone for long hours as I don't do well being crated, at all. I really enjoy spending time with my family and I tend to be lonely and depressed if left alone for long periods of time, as I do have a bit of separation anxiety. I would love to be your new baby girl, a best friend and a great companion. Please fill out an application so that you can be approved. . .I would love to meet you!!
We are currently taking applications for this little sweetheart, but she will not be able to be shown to anyone until she gets well from her Kennel cough.
