Crisco's Story...
Gorgeous, super cute and adorable Crisco came to The Nest from a local animal shelter. Crisco is about 2 years old and he weighs about 13 lbs., He is very friendly, playful and outgoing, gets along great with other dogs of all sizes and is fine with cats. He loves to play with other dogs his size, go for walks and being with his person. He is house broken but may mark his new territory initially. We have not yet seen him around children but we don't anticipate any problems with kids age 8 or older. Crisco is neutered, current on vaccinations including Bordetella and Rabies, he tested negative for Heartworm, is on heartworm/flea prevention and he is micro chipped. If you are interested in adopting Crisco please fill out an adoption application on our web site www.inthenest.net (make sure you write something in each bar or it won't go through). An adoption application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting. Crisco's adoption fee is $375.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Crisco, a Bloomington Havanese/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese/Maltese for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Havanese/Maltese dog from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese/Maltese breeders who help with Havanese/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
