My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola is a very nice, sweet, 6 year old, red and black female German Shepherd. Her coloring is very unique; as she is predominantly a reddish tan color with black saddle markings and no black mask. Lola has an "old style" GSD body style which means she is very stout and square, with a large head, wide chest and straight, short back. She weighs about 78 pounds and is absolutely the best dog ever! She has no behavioral issues and is very laid back and calm. She will not require much exercise and is perfectly happy just hanging around indoors or out. Lola gets along great with other dogs but will definitely chase a cat. Although she may bark if a stranger drives up or comes over, it is more of an announcement as Lola has not exhibited any aggression towards people at all. She is very easy to handle, fine at the vet and doesn't mind getting a bath or being groomed. Lola does not jump on people even when she's excited to see you and minds very well. Lola enjoys attention and petting, but is not one to seek it out or cuddle. She is happy to get pet and then go hang out nearby. She likes to be with you, but is fine alone if you have to leave and is content just to go chew on her bone or take a nap.

We rescued Lola from a "high kill" California shelter when she was dumped there by her previous owners, supposedly because they could no longer afford her.

Lola's ideal home would be an indoor/outdoor home with a family or person that does not expect her to be a "watch dog" and understands that she is laid back and not very active. This girl would not make a very good running/biking partner as she does not really enjoy fast paced exercise. A short, slower hike or walk or just hanging out by the pool or watching TV is more her style and speed. Other than that, Lola would thrive in just about any type of (cat free) home. If you think you can be Lola's "happily ever after" please let us know!

Lola is current on her vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and heart-worm Negative. She has been de-wormed, examined by a veterinarian and is healthy! Lola is currently on a monthly flea, tick and heart-worm preventative, Trifexis. Her adoption fee is $175. We offer a 2 - week trial period in order to insure Lola is a great match for you! She is currently in the Victoria, TX area, however, transport can be arranged. Home check, vet reference and/or personal references, as well as a signed adoption contract are required for adoption.
