Otis's Story...
Otis is a one and a half year old, neutered Pit Bull Terrier who was turned into the shelter because his owner could no longer care for him. Otis will be available for adoption on 8/2/2013 at 6:00 PM. Ottis is a sweet dog and seems to get along with other dogs and children, however we don't know his behavior with cats. He appears to really like young children, but because of his size older children would probably be best. Otis is young with high energy so will need an active family, who will include him in their activities and re-enforce positive behavior. Otis would shine with an obedience class and what a great way to bond with your new best friend.

If you want to apply for Otis click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Otis, a Meridian Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
