found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered and up to date with shots.
This little darling was living on his own in an empty lot for over four months. Kind people in nearby office complexes were feeding him but could not get within 15 feet. He would "sprint" away every time they tried. He was scared, alone and unsure of his fate from hour to hour. Benji's volunteers set a dog trap and spent a week monitoring and setting food out for the little guy and finally captured him. Finally, desperate to rescue the little guy, the volunteers resorted to a cheeseburger and fries instead of expensive canned food. That did the trick!!!! Layers of dirt were washed away and this little guy, as pictured as he was drying, was clearly feeling better...though still scared and confused. Yet, he did lick the rescuer's hand when he was getting a nice warm bath. There was gratitude in his eyes with a soft bed to lay on after a warm meal. He is still afraid and needs some tender loving care in the right home (small children not suitable for this fellow) and also some grooming which we are continuing to work on....so forgive these photos....but he shows the potential to be a wonderful little guy. He is about a year old or so, we think....we are learning more and more about this little guy each day. He gets along with the other dogs and cats in his foster home....has had only one mistake in the house so far, being really good and trying so very hard. Still very shy, but warming up more each day....likes to play with other dogs. He has a little abandonment anxiety and will bark when you leave him in a room alone but eventually stop. The trick to that was having him with another foster dog and that stopped altogether. He was a lonely little guy...and loves company. He has since been trimmed up a little better than these photos and is simply as cute and sweet as they come. About our adoption process: For more information or to request an adoption application (required), please email the dog's foster listed above (no phone calls, please). There is no commitment by submitting the application - it just helps us determine if the pet you are interested in will be a good match for you. Next is a meet and greet at one of our adoption events - typically held on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Chandler, AZ (Ray Rd & I-10). Not every pet is at every event so please contact us first to find out when and where you can meet the pet you are interested in. If there are other dogs in your household, we suggest bringing them to ensure everyone gets along. The standard adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $140 (cash or check) which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, microchip and collar/tags.
