Facts about Sophia

  • Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix
  • Color: Gray/Blue/Silver/Salt & Pepper
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
SOPHIA is a beautiful 4 year old female Blue Heeler mix. Her foster says that Sophia is a very silly girl that loves to run and play. She also loves hugs and loves children. There are children aged 8 and above at her foster home. She is up to date on all vaccinations, HW negative, microchipped and spayed. Sophia weighs 53 pounds. She was an owner surrender in Trenton, TN. Sophia is energetic and needs someone who will exercise her daily. She needs to be able to run and play. She is strong and can pull when on a leash but this should improve with training. Sophia is a little overbearing when around smaller dogs so, if she was to have a canine sibling, they would need to be strong and playful and closer in size to Sophia. Sophia is great with older kids but she may unintentionally knock over a toddler when playing. She is not house trained but will crate when told to do so. Sophia is extremely intelligent and learns fast. She just needs someone willing to put some training time in with her. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Sophia if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of her veterinary care she has received.

About Diamonds in the Ruff Pound Pups

About Our Rescue Group...

Diamonds in the Ruff Pound Pups is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group that rescues animals from kill shelters as well as stray, abandoned, injured, and neglected animals throughout Obion County in NW TN. If any of these dogs is a pet you lost, please contact the rescue. The rescue will not return a dog to you unless you can provide proof of ownership including photos of you with your pet, veterinary records showing you provided state-required rabies vaccinations and other routine care, and you must pay any and all veterinary and boarding expenses incurred by the rescue during the time they cared for your lost pet.

If you are not ready to adopt at this time, please consider fostering a pet, even for just a week. You will be saving a life!

All of our pets would welcome a donation toward their care until they find a forever home. You may donate at to or by mailing a check to Diamonds in the Ruff Pound Pups, c/o Sandra Blair, PO Box 62, Union, City, TN 38281. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Our Adoption Process...

In general, there is an adoption fee of $200 which helps to cover the cost of basic veterinary care, age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tests, spay or neuter and microchip. If a dog has required medical care above and beyond the norm, the adoption fee could be higher. Fees are sometimes lower for certain dogs, so please inquire. If we are unable to arrange for volunteer transport for adoptions outside our area, it may be necessary for us to arrange for paid transport at a cost of approximately $140. Completion of an adoption application as well as a veterinarian reference is required. Our online adoption application can be found at We also have a paper application which you can obtain by emailing Thanks for your interest in adopting a Diamonds Dog!
