Bengie's Story...
Bengie is an adorable neutered male 6 month Maltese mix dropped off at Animal Care and Control by his owner. He was not successful in passing his evaluation so we were asked to rescue him. He has energy to spare and needs a home where structure and exercise is provided daily, and an owner will not let his cute face get in the way of teaching him good canine manners. Another dog to romp with would be ideal! He is full of playful, bouncy puppy energy, loves to go for walks, gentle taking treats, learning how to sit, and is a lap dog in training.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bengie, a Anchorage Maltese puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Anchorage, or seeking a Maltese puppy from a breeder in Anchorage.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Anchorage already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Anchorage breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Anchorage paves the way for another one to be saved.
