Gage's Story...
The first step in our adoption process is an application, which you can submit online at www.littlebitsrescue.org It does not obligate you in any way, but we do not arrange meetings or make telephone contact until we have one. Gage is a puppy found with his littermates in a box beside the road, so we don’t know his heritage. Our best guess is that he is a Chihuahua/Pug mix. His estimated date of birth is May 31, 2013. Gage will probably weigh 10 to 15 pounds at maturity. He has been neutered and is up to date on age-appropriate immunizations. Gage will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 10 years or with a dog weighing more than 25 pounds. His adoption donation is $150, and he is being fostered in Moody, Alabama. If you are interested in adopting this sweet baby, the first step is to submit an APPLICATION.

We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gage, a Birmingham Chihuahua/Pug puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Pug for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Chihuahua/Pug puppy from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Pug breeders who help with Chihuahua/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
