My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopted January 2014; unavailable. Original bio below:

Callie is a 5 year old, pure-bred Yorkshire Terrier female. She weighs 7-8 lbs. She's a bit chubby & should be about 6 lbs. Callie was surrendered to us by her breeder who is retiring. Callie is very affectionate to humans & is used to sleeping at the foot of the bed with her people. She's fine to be in a crate for 1-2 hours but not longer than than. She's potty trained to piddle pads or newspaper. She's not always happy with other female dogs & needs to be either an only dog or with another small male dog (close to her age & size). Callie loves getting your undivided love & attention. She's a friendly, happy girl who gives gentle kisses. Callie is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped. She's just had a vet exam, blood work & a dental done by our vet while under anesthesia. She's professionally groomed, as well. True to her Yorkie heritage, Callie is happy, affectionate, friendly, sweet, & smart. Yorkies are intelligent & require owners who know how to be pack leader. Callie is not used to being in a harness & leash. She's an inside only dog who has been allowed free run of the home & to be in a secure back yard only when with a human. Callie needs a home with either all adults or adults with older children (12 years & up who have small dog experience & know how to properly treat a small dog). If you have the right kind of home for this little beauty, email us at 1yorkiesrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application. Callie's adoption donation is $480 & includes her lifetime microchip registration.

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog!
