You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

All of our dogs are in foster homes and we have no paid staff.  If you have questions concerning a specific dog,  PLEASE fill out an application and the foster parent will be in touch.  We will not arrange any home visits with any of our dogs until your application is processed.  Please understand our foster parents are precious to our 2nd Chance family; without them we cannot function, so we do our best to not burden them with multiple appointments.  Our foster parents will choose their top 3 applications and arrange home visits with these applicants.  The adopter will be chosen at that time.  The process can take anywhere from a week to a month.  We want to make sure our little furry ones are placed in their "forever home" and never have to go through a rehoming again!

Update: I got to go see a nice lady for a spa day and now everyone says I am so beautiful!  Check out my new glamour shots!! I have gained weight and no more nasty sores. My hair is soft and my eyes and nose are so shiny.

My foster mom and dad call me 'Sweetie Dog' because I am so sweet :) Believe it or not, after 10+ years being a housedog someone let me end up lost and all alone hanging out on a porch. I was taken to a shelter and I was covered in sores, very skinny, and really dirty and matted.  Luckily the shelter called 2ndChance and some nice ladies came and took me to my foster mom. I got a bath and went to a vet who gave me medicine. WOW! Do I feel better now! I have to have insulin shots every day and eat special food for something called 'diabetes' but I don't mind at all.

I am looking for a quiet home with older people (no young kids) and maybe another very low energy dog would be ok. I generally don't mind other dogs though and just ignore them. I do not play much but prefer to have someone pet me and let me hang out and help them watch TV or read. I'm real good at going outside quick to do my business and just turn around and come right back in. I will bark to let you know when I have to go out. I don't mind a crate if you have to leave me in one but I don't chew or get into anything in the house either.
If you can handle a sweet senior dog with a medical issue fill out an application and my foster mom will be in touch.

Adoption donation may be reduced for dogs with special needs.

Please understand we do not adopt out to families with children under the age of 5.  We do not adopt to renters.  Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.

A dog is a lifetime commitment.  The dogs in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners :(   We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the dog is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.  Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!

About 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is a foster network. Our goal is to find our precious little ones their "forever families" where they will live out the rest of their lives. Your dog is a part of your family and should be treated as such. You don't give away your children and neither should your loyal pet be dispensable!
All our dogs must be altered before adoption. Spay/Neuter is the only way to stop the senseless overpopulation we have now. Our hope is one day with education we will live in a society where shelters are not a necessity and no animal will die just for lack of space!
