Sierra Nevada's Story...
Hello! My name is Sierra Nevada because I would love to go hiking in the mountains with you. I am a 8 month old Boxer mix who has not been spayed yet. I was brought to the shelter on July 22nd because my family was unable to care for me properly. I am just a big puppy and would love to have an active family where I can get the attention and exercise that I crave. Do you have the time to hang out with me? I would love to have a family of my own and discover the exciting world that lays in waiting. Please come and visit me, I am waiting for you.

My Adoption Fee is $200.00. This adoption fee INCLUDES distemper/parvo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, de-worming, and heartworm testing (if over the age of 6 months). I am also current on heartworm and flea prevention.

All animals must be spayed/neutered and rabies vaccinated before they can go home. If these procedures are not already done at the time of adoption, an appointment must be made with a veterinarian of your choice. You, as the adopter, are responsible for any cost incurred at the veterinarian.

If you are interested in adopting me, please contact the shelter at one of the following: (618) 457-2362 or hssi95@frontier.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sierra Nevada, a Murphysboro Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
