Oscar's Story...
Take 26 dogs, add 25 birds, 9 bunnies and 5 chickens and what do you get? Busted by animal control, that's what. Our volunteers worked five hours with Cobb County animal control to rescue these animals in a recent hoarding case. The volunteers found breathing difficult inside the house where filth was virtually rotting the floors. They've also had trouble sleeping since then, from the conditions they saw. Animals were stuffed inside cages so small they could barely move. Cages in every room, stacked one on top of another. Cages in the shed in the backyard. Dogs stuffed inside chicken coops - with the chickens! And so many cats and kittens we lost count. (Another rescue group stepped in for the felines and birds, thank goodness). We've been giving baths, vaccinations and TLC nonstop since the rescue!

Oscar is another mystery mix. He's got quirky good looks. He's healthy and around 3 years old. He's friendly but can be a little shy. He gets along with some dogs and dislikes others so arrange a meet and greet if you already have a pup. Oscar is crate-trained and walks well on a leash too.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Marietta Wirehaired Fox Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wirehaired Fox Terrier for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Wirehaired Fox Terrier dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wirehaired Fox Terrier breeders who help with Wirehaired Fox Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
