Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This couple is just trying to work it out to keep their special boy and hopefully the baby and the dog will just learn to get along and they can be a loving family. The husband takes him to work and he is safe, cared for and taken home every night. She will contact you if anything changes.
Urgent, I need to find a new home ASAP! Please don't overlook me, I might just be your new best pal and a great companion.
My name is Elvis and I am a blonde, 8 year old, cocker spaniel boy. I am looking for a new forever home and someone to love me again. I came to CCR at 2 years old, back in June of 2007 along with a female chocolate cocker. We had been abandoned by our owners in the outside dog fencing of a NC vet office. We were dirty, badly matted and we needed to be groomed. I had a cherry eye that has now been fixed and she had to have heartworm treatment. She found her new forever home and then I found my new home with a wonderful family in December of 2007.
I have lived a good life and I have been very loved by my family. I have been their baby boy and treated well. My family is not happy about it, but they feel that it is best for me to find a new place to call home. It is a decision they didn't want to ever have to make . . . and giving me up will truly break their hearts. They recently had a baby and I have growled excessively at him on several different occasions. I did not bite him, but my actions led them to think that I would have, if they had not intervened. I am current on my shots, flea and heartworm prevention and I have no health issues. I am house trained and I am not mischievous in the home. I love to be wherever you are and I would enjoy just snoozing on the couch next to you. I do enjoy going on walks, and I am well mannered with older children and adults. I love to be the center of attention and would appreciate spending quality time with you . . .I am a very loyal companion.
I will do best in a home as an only dog with a family and older children or maybe a senior couple who would enjoy having a best friend and a great companion. I do not particularly care for other dogs, but I will play with another very dog social dog outside, when both of us are in a fenced area and we are off leash and no toys are involved.
I am currently in foster care with my family and being kept separate from the baby only as a temporary solution, so I need to find a home ASAP. They really need to find me a good home. The baby is taking a lot of their time right now, so I am alone most of the time, and I do not get much attention or love. Please give me my 2nd chance to find the loving home that I deserve . . . Pictures are coming very soon, so that you can see how nice I look.
If you are interested in adopting me, please email: larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an adoption application. Our adoption fee is $300 which includes all the vetting and medical needs for the dog.
