Ruby's Story...
Ruby is a medium sized dog -- 22 lbs and about 14" tall (much smaller than she appears). She is about 8-10 months old, so she won't get much bigger... and she can't get much sweeter! She is mellow and friendly, with a tail that is always calmly wagging. She's slightly submissive and gets along great with dogs, kids and even kittens. She is a Beagle/Chocolate Lab mix. She is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations, so she is ready for her forever home!

Here is a video of her playing with our two nine week old kittens. They love to chase her thumping tail.

She will be featured at the Super Adoption Event, Inskip's Warwick Auto Mall, RI August the 11th, but applications are encouraged now. www.arkanpaws.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Somers Beagle/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Labrador Retriever for sale in Somers, or seeking a Beagle/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Somers.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Somers already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Somers breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Beagle/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Somers paves the way for another one to be saved.
