Lyla & Samson's Story...
Introducing Samson & Lyla. They are 3 year old Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund mixes. Samson is a male and Lyla a female. These cutie pies were surrendered to the shelter because their family had a change in lifestyle. Unfortunately that's all they said about them. They are new arrivals at the shelter so not much is known about them. They are very people friendly but aren't really thrilled to be around other dogs. It's not known if they like children or not. One thing for sure, they are siblings and would love to stay together. Stop by and check out this dynamic duo.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lyla & Samson, a Elyria Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
